Studio G Architects was retained by The Muller Company in 2019 to rebrand and reposition Century Plaza—formerly known as the “Paperclip” building. Located near Santana Row in San Jose, the six-story, 103,622-square-foot office building was transformed to create a stronger identity and market presence. A new façade with modern cladding and bold signage redefines the previously understated entry, while enclosed balconies add usable office space for tenants. A six-story illuminated light shaft was integrated into the building’s form, establishing a highly visible landmark element. Enhanced hardscape and landscape improvements soften and humanize the arrival experience and create a tranquil rear outdoor amenity. Interior upgrades to the lobby, restrooms, and corridors deliver a cohesive, modern aesthetic throughout.
