As is the case for many of the original engineering buildings in Silicon Valley, the lobby and a sense of arrival was less important than efficiently housing engineers. For the current leasing market, however, curb appeal and a dramatic and attractive entry are critical.
This project retained the form of the original diagonal entry, but eliminated the shed roof and constructed a contemporary two story lobby, clad in metal panel. At the same time the existing structure and interior was refreshed to create an attractive, modern office building .
